Waterfront Boat Trips

A Waterfront That Owes Its Establishment to Boat Trips

Water, the sea or ocean, boats and trips on or across the water tend to bring out something rather special and nostalgic in numerous people. In South Africa, rivers aren’t really navigable. Consequently, this fascination with boat trips usually applies to the ocean.

There are various ways to take in the magic of the moment as it applies to boat trips – from a vantage point on a beach, a wharf or jetty on a waterfront, or best of all, by boarding the vessel and going on the best of outings – a luxury cruise.

Cape Town owes its existence and growth to the sea, and the long ocean trips and voyages undertaken by Dutch sailing ships across the ocean between their home country and the East Indies, plus their need for fresh provisions en route, taken aboard in a relatively safe harbour, where they could/would eventually construct a waterfront.
