Sunset Cruises from the Waterfront

Sunset Cruises from the Waterfront

Way back, in 1954, the famed late Hollywood actor, Marlon Brando, had the leading male role in a film called “On the Waterfront”. The film dealt with Brando’s character in conflict with a powerful mobster, who had taken control of a particular waterfront on the Hudson River, where it overlooked parts of New York City.

Essentially, this highly successful movie depicted a fictional struggle that took place on the seedy, dirty waterfront. The struggle was between the unequal forces of good and evil, respectively represented by the small man with little power and few resources, and the big crime boss, who had massive amounts of ill-gotten money and criminal manpower at his disposal. Needless to say, good overcame evil – the typical trend and lesson of action films of the time.

Our Spectacular Waterfront

The V&A Waterfront in Cape Town is entirely different. It’s all good and it isn’t built on a river. This waterfront is known as the V&A (Victoria and Albert) Waterfront, and it is found a short distance from the Port of Cape Town, where massive ocean-going vessels dock.

The Tigger 2 Royale, our 55-ft flagship luxury charter cruise boat aboard which we conduct our popular sunset cruises along the Cape coastline, has its mooring at the V&A Waterfront, which is an orderly, picture-perfect, prestigious, and fun place to call home – there are no mob bosses or protagonists seeking the upper hand on this waterfront.

Superb Sunset Charter Cruises

Until the end of March 2019, we offer an excellent discount of 20% off the fees of all our private boat charter cruises, which includes our sunset options. On a non-private charter basis, our ever popular 1,5-hour sunset cruise that operates every evening (passenger numbers dependent) remains a favourite and is still on offer at R400 per person.

We’ve also introduced another sunset-type cruise option – the sundowner & light snacks cruise, taking place every Friday or Sunday evening. Departure times from the waterfront depend on the time of sunset, which varies from season to season. This longer 2,5-hour cruise option that expires at the end of April 2019 includes light snacks, an additional Aperol Spritz cocktail en route, and entertainment and music on board, supplied by DJ Didier.

Contingency plans are in place if the weather is inclement, but this is exclusively determined by our Skipper at the last minute, for your enjoyment and safety’s sake, because your comfort and wellbeing are of paramount importance when you’re a sunset guest aboard our waterfront’s Tigger 2.
