Party Cruise Specials on New Year’s Eve

There are several special occasions during every year when celebrations, festivities, and parties take place, but none is more universally celebrated than those which take place on New Year’s Eve. Even folks who don’t go out to celebrate the end of one year and the start of the next will typically stay up to bid the old year farewell and welcome the new one at midnight.

At Tigger 2, our luxury cruise charter boat company in Cape Town, we offer you an exceptionally novel, exciting opportunity like no other to celebrate and bring in the new year – our inimitable New Year’s Eve cruise specials, consisting of two sensational cruise offers  aboard our luxury cruise boat, the elegant Tigger 2 Royale.

Our New Year’s Eve Special Party Cruise Options

Upon boarding, our passengers are welcomed with a delightful Aperol Spritz cocktail and nibbles (applicable to both options). The options we are offering are as follows:

  • 3,5-hour cruise – We will depart for offshore Clifton at 19:00 for a 1,5-hour cruise to view the last 2018 sunset aboard our luxury catamaran with a glass of sparkling wine in hand. Upon returning to the V&A Waterfront, a plated on-board dinner will be served and disembarkation will be at 21:00.
  • 4-hours cruise – This option also commences as above, but dinner is served immediately after mooring. The subsequent 1-hour cruise is weather dependent, likewise viewing an extended fireworks display while at sea. The fireworks will also still be spectacular when viewed from the V&A Waterfront, if weather so dictates.

Scotland’s Most Celebrated Eve

New Year’s Eve celebrations in Scotland are unique too, known as Hogmanay. A Hogmanay/New Year’s Eve custom, known as “First Footing”, represents best wishes for the future, as from the first day of the new year – a day of new beginnings, filled with hopes of future good luck.

The most welcome and desired “First Foot” to set foot into Scottish homes after midnight on the 31st of December should belong to a male bearing a lump of coal, a piece of shortbread, and a dram (tot) of whisky. These symbolic First Footing gifts represent warmth for the home (coal), food (shortbread), and comfort or prosperity (whisky).

Entertainment, Food, Drinks, Good Cheer, and Memories Aplenty

There’s a great deal more on offer aboard one of our New Year’s Eve special cruises, including a DJ (entertainment and party atmosphere), cash bar (includes various whiskies), great food (better than shortbread), spectacular views of a midnight fireworks display, and festivities galore to equal or surpass those of the Scots, whether you’re the first or last foot to board Tigger 2 Royale. Book now for a New Year’s Eve celebration that’ll live in your memory forever.
